Republican conference "Terror on the Caucasus"

November 28, Central Scientific Library of ANAS hosted for a republican conference on "Terror on the Caucasus”, organized by Institute of Caucasus Studies.

The event was started by National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Opening the conference, director of the Institute of Caucasus Studies corresponding member of ANAS Musa Gasimli  stressed the importance of the conference. The Caucasus is a region with a sensitive political situation that is in the center of attention and interest of many countries around the world. The Caucasus is also full of terror and threats and threats.

The director of the Institute highlighted that, independent Azerbaijan state is taking serious steps to establish peace, stability and multiculturalism in the Caucasus. The North-South Transportation Corridor project, initiated by President Ilham Aliyev, also serves to deepen this policy.

Academician-secretary of ANAS Division of Social Sciences academician Nargiz Akhundova stated that, terrorism on the Caucasus is most relevant for Azerbaijan, because we have faced Armenian terrorism many times.

The Caucasus also has an important role in the strategic map of the world. The region plays an important role in maintaining balance in the world. There are also some problems in the region, which are also linked to various historical factors.

Later on, Professor Musa Gasimli delivered a lecture on "Terrorism of Armenian political-terror organizations against Russian and Georgian officials of Tsarist Russia in the South Caucasus during 1903-1904”.

The conference discussed the processes taking place in the Caucasus region, geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus, geopolitical claims of the Armenians and other issues were discussed in the conference.
