Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

An international conference on "Intercultural Transfer - 35 years experience of new theory" organized by Leipzig University in Leipzig, Germany, was held on December 12-14.

The purpose of the event was to evaluate and discuss the evolution of the new theory and research methodology that began to be applied in the social sciences and humanities of France and Germany since the 1980s and gained popularity in modern Western science under the name of “cultural transfer”. The theory and research methodology mentioned in recent years has begun to be applied to studies in Eastern societies in Europe, including the Caucasus and Azerbaijan.

Scientists from Germany, France, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, China, Vietnam and other countries participated in the conference. At the event Azerbaijan was represented by Shahin Mustafayev, academician deputy director of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Z. Bunyadov. During the conference, he delivered a lecture entitled "The role of the Silk Road in the formation of the historical location of Azerbaijan".

The lecture of the Azerbaijani scientist aroused great interest on attendees of the event and widely discussed.
