Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS hosted for a republican scientific seminar in the field of earth sciences was held.

The event was attended by the first vice president of ANAS academician Ibrahim Guliyev, heads of institutes that are part of the Division of Earth Sciences, university professors, employees of the institute, as well as media representatives.

First, director of IGG, academician Akif Alizadeh informed issues on the agenda. He said that the seminar is dedicated to the "Scientific foundations of nonlinear geomechanics of the tectonodynamic evolution of the Earth and its structural elements."

Reporting scientists - academician Hatam Guliyev and corresponding member of ANAS Surkhay Akbarov explained the results obtained by developing the appropriate theoretical models and their mathematical modeling to calculate the peculiar oscillations of the globe. It was stated that the research results were aimed at the discovery and commissioning of oil and gas fields. The results have been published in various reputable journals.

Then there were discussions on the report, numerous questions were responded.
