Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Presentation of the books, publishing in 2019 by Institute of History of ANAS named after A.Bakikhanov, to the National Library of Azerbaijan was held on January 29.

The event was organized by the Institute of History, Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and National Library of Azerbaijan.

Opening the ceremony, director of the National Library Professor Karim Tahirov said that President Ilham Aliyev called the Institute of History a center of historical research in our country and highly appreciated the work of the enterprise. He noted that the publications of the organization were published in Turkish, English, Arabic, Russian, German, French, Italian and other languages.

Director of the Institute of History academician Yagub Mahmudov said that in 2019 the scientific enterprise published 43 new books. He noted that last year, "Parties and Parliament in the political system of the People Republic of Azerbaijan" (1918-1920) (in Russian), four leaflets on the history of the "Iravan khanate" (Spanish and Arabic), "Real history and the "Great Armenia" fiction" (Turkish, Arabic and French), “Emirate of Tbilisi” etc. books were released.

Speakers at the ceremony said that more than 500 research works have been published in the Institute of History in recent years on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev. The scientific enterprise has been brought archival documents from Paris, London, Berlin, Delhi, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Istanbul, Ankara and other places.

Finally, Institute of History and National Library signed a cooperation agreement.
