Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan Firdovsi Aliyev visited the Institute of Geography after acad. Hasan Aliyev of ANAS.

The goal is to analyze and exchange views on a map of environmental risks prepared by the director of the institute, academician Ramiz Mammadov and Ph.D. in Geography Mirnuh Ismayilov.

During a meeting with guests, academician Ramiz Mammadov noted that in addition to personal observations, the existing maps prepared by the scientific institution were widely used in compiling the material. He noted that the development of human activities, the emergence of new technologies and the growth of anthropogenic phenomena also increase the risk and the need for regular changes on the map.

Then M. Ismayilov talked about the reasons for the urgency of the problem, technogenic factors that pose a threat to people's lives, patterns of natural disasters, assessment and mapping of environmental risks in Azerbaijan.

Deputy Minister Firdovsi Aliyev praised the work of scientists of the Institute of Geography and noted that the joint work of the two institutions will be very useful in preparing large-scale maps of strategic importance for the country.
