Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Two projects led by employees of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS were awarded a bronze medal in the IX Republican contest “Scientists of the Future” in the nomination “Biology”.

For studies conducted as part of the project “Transfer of DNA from mitochondria to the nucleus” under the leadership of the head of the Bioinformatics laboratory of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS Ilham Shahmuradov, 11th grade student of 177th high school in Yasamal district Seljan Nurullaeva and 10th grade student Tuba Aliyev was awarded a bronze medal.

The head of another project implemented at this scientific institution is a leading researcher at the Bioadaptation laboratory, Ph.D. in Biology, associate professor Nargiz Sultanova. Feyruz Sultanli, a ninth-grader in Nasimi district secondary school No. 5, and Khanym Huseynova, a 10th grade student of the Modern Education Complex, were awarded a bronze medal for the project “Stimulating Effect of Coumarin Derivatives in a Grape Plant”.
