The monograph “Paleoanthropology of Azerbaijan (VII century BC - V century AD)” by a leading researcher at the Anthropological Center of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, PhD in History, associate professor Dmitry Kirichenko, was published in Russian.

The monograph examines the craniological series and skulls of various monuments of the grave type of Azerbaijan during this period. The work consists of three chapters.

The monograph also contains extensive diagrams of craniological measurements and illustrations, reflecting graphic images of the studied paleoanthropological materials.

According to the results, the Caspian anthropological type of the southern (Mediterranean) branch of the Caucasian race has been represented in Azerbaijan from the Mesolithic to the present. Thus, the anthropological continuity of the population of Azerbaijan has been preserved since ancient times.

The monograph is intended for anthropologists, archaeologists and historians, as well as for those who are interested in the ancient history of Azerbaijan, the Caucasus, the Middle East and Eurasia as a whole.
