The monograph "Nakhchivan literary environment in the context of East-West” authored by the senior researcher of the Department of Literary Studies of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS, PhD in Philology Nargiz Ismayilova, has been published. The new publication is the first systematic scientific research work devoted to the study of Eastern and Western tendencies in the Nakhchivan literary environment with centuries-old traditions.

The monograph extensively studies and generalizes the East-West traditions in the Nakhchivan literary environment, which began in the ancient and medieval times and further developed in the XIX-XX centuries.

The book traces the expansion of Western literary tendencies in Azerbaijani literature, including the literary environment of Nakhchivan, since the 19th century, drawing attention to new ideas and genres that have come to literature on this basis.

The research also reflects a modern scientific view of the causes and consequences of the return to Eastern and Western traditions in the literary environment of Nakhchivan during the period of independence. For the first time, the author conducted a scientific analysis of the issues of literary translation in this literary environment. In the study of this stage, he commented on his theses with examples from the works of writers and poets represented in the Nakhchivan literary environment.
