A paper by the head of the Laboratory for Fruit Growing, Horticulture and Viticulture of the Institute of Bioresources of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Varis Guliyev titled “The Study of Polyploid Forms of Grapes” was published in the international indexed journal “Cytology and Histology”, published in the USA.

It should be noted that for the first time in the world Varis Guliyev developed a method for producing polyploid seeds from generative organs of grapes, as a result of which a method for producing grape forms with a new genome structure was developed and published in prestigious international journals in English and Russian. Currently, this method is used in breeding centers of viticulture, operating in different countries of the world.

The research work also provides information on the structure of the genome, cytological and histological features of various recently created polyploid forms of grapes.
