Azerbaijani scientists’ paper published in a reputable international journal

The paper dubbed “Biochemical properties and ultrastructure of maize chloroplast mesophilic and integumentary thylakoids (Zea mays L.)”, reflecting the results of studies conducted by the Laboratory of Cellular Membrane Systems of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS, was published in the prestigious “Functional Plant Biology journal”. This journal is the official journal of the Australian Society of Plant Scientists and has an impact factor of 2327.

The study is devoted to a comparative study of the photosynthetic apparatus and ultrastructure of two different types of cells of a corn plant related to the metabolism of C4 photosynthesis.

The research also used a high-performance electron microscope JEM-1400 TEM (Japanese-made) from the Research Center of the Azerbaijan Medical University.

Note that research in this direction is continuing successfully.
