Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The collections of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History of ANAS contain a number of materials reflecting the active role of our compatriots during the Second World War.

Thus, on the occasion of Victory Day - May 9, exhibits, photographs and paintings, as well as objects belonging to soldiers fighting on the front and rear lines, personal belongings, documents and ammunition belonging to Azerbaijanis - Heroes of the Soviet Union are displayed at various exhibitions.

Among the museum's valuable exhibits are materials reflecting the exploits of the Hero of the Soviet Union twice, Major General Azi Aslanov, Colonel General Tofig Agaguseynov, Major General Tarlan Aliyarbekov and others. In addition, the Museum’s Weapons and Flags Fund contains the banners of the infantry regiments of the 223rd Belgrade Infantry Division, as well as the combat banner of the 416th Taganrog Infantry Division, the combat banners of individual infantry regiments of this division. The staff of the institution wrote various books and articles about the participants of World War II, and they also took part in films dedicated to this topic.

Note that on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory over fascism a museum action plan has been drawn up, from May 1, 2020, videos are regularly broadcast online, employees make relevant online reports and articles.
