Azerbaijan is a country rich in underground and surface natural resources. In this regard, renewable plant resources are distinguished by their species diversity and importance. Research on the study of plant resources has a special place among the scientific directions of the Institute of Botany of ANAS. One of the most important and urgent problems of the time is the study of flora (bioecological, chemical, biochemical, technological, economic) for the protection of flora, the discovery of new useful properties of plants to strengthen the country's economy, improve people's livelihoods, especially health and sustainable food security, was stated in the article titled as "Natural plant resources of Azerbaijan and their usage in medicine" by Deputy Director for Science of the Institute of Botany of ANAS, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Eldar Novruzov.
