The article of the Deputy Director for Science of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, Professor Najaf Museyibli entitled "Leylatapa culture of the South Caucasus at the intersection of the traditions of Central Asia and Southeast Europe" in the German collection "Archäologie in Iran und Turan" (Band 19) in German and Russian published.
This collection, which is a periodical of the German Institute of Archeology, contains the results of archeological research in Eurasia.
The article authored by N.Museyibli tells about the archeological culture of Leylatapa, which existed in the ancient territory of Azerbaijan in the first half of the 4th
millennium. It is said that this culture, which originated in Eastern Anatolia-Northern Mesopotamia, was formed in the South Caucasus.
The article compares the settlements, tomb monuments, mass archeological materials of Leylatapa culture with similar findings of the contemporary Maykop culture of Central Asia on the one hand and the North Caucasus on the other.
