Institute of Dendrology, which is of strategic importance in the field of biodiversity conservation and is considered a practical experimental base for botanical research, also conducts research in this area on a broad scientific basis. The establishment of the Dendrochronology Laboratory in 2011, which meets modern standards and conducts research using modern methods, has given impetus to work in this direction at the enterprise. The main activities of the laboratory are biometric analysis of processes occurring in the populations of rare species in the natural and cultural flora, collection of dendrochronological data, biometric analysis, comparative analysis of species in the natural and cultural flora and other natural phenomena.

According to the head of the laboratory, PhD in Biology Samira Bagirova, dendrochronological research is used to study biological changes in recent millennia.
