TURKPA Commission on Environment and Natural Resources held an online video conference on "Protection of water resources and lands during the COVID-19 pandemic."

Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev took part in the conference at the invitation of TURKPA Secretary General Altinbek Mamayusupov. He delivered a lecture on "Protection of water resources and lands during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Turkic states (on the example of Azerbaijan and Central Asia)" at the online event.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference discussed the issues of proper assessment of water resources in TURKPA member countries, electronic management of water resources and balance, study of the basic principles of national legislation of member countries, efficient use of energy resources.

The video conference was attended by parliamentarians from member states and parliamentarians from Uzbekistan, as well as experts from relevant ministries and agencies of the member countries, as well as officials from the United Nations Development Program, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Azerbaijan.
