Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

At the initiative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, an online meeting of the coordination group on "Development of the National Strategy for the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction" was held on June 24.

The meeting was attended by representatives of a number of government agencies and ministries, as well as the Director General of the Republican Seismological Survey Center (RSSC) of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli.

A meeting was held at the meeting to discuss the stages of development and preparation of the National Strategy for the Sendai Framework Document, which provided information on disasters around the world.

Speaking at the online meeting, corresponding member of ANAS Gurban Yetirmishli noted the importance of joint action of government agencies involved in the development of the national strategy. He said that the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the RSSC are working together, and stressed the need to involve other government agencies in the coordination group.

Questions of mutual interest were responded at the meeting.
