Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

November 19, 2014, regular meeting of the Presidium of ANAS was held. Opening the event with introductory remarks, the president of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh familiarized the participants with the issues on the agenda. Then was attended the report of the Director of the Physics Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Nazim Mammadov and Deputy Director of the institute for Innovation and Transfer , physicist Dr. Ayaz Bayramov on “Development of the advanced thin-film technology at the Institute of Physics of ANAS.” A. Bayramov noted that in the past few years have done important work in the creation of modern testing, theoretical and technical base of the institute, implementing innovative programs to create new materials and device structures for high technology. Conducted fulfillments within this research program related to the field of nanotechnology and build on information technology, as well as renewable energy sources. These problems included the leadership of the republic in a number of priority directions of development of the country.

It was noted that work is carried out with financial support from the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the framework of the pilot project. As a result of this project, the institute was created innovative sector that meets international standards and equipped with the most modern manufacturing and research facilities.

Exchange of views on the topic was held. Academicians Ibrahim Guliyev, Tofig Nagiyev, Adil Garibov, Telman Aliyev and others reported with questions.

Then vice-president of ANAS, academician Ibrahim Guliyev spoke about the establishment of the Commission on the organization of the exhibition of scientific achievements of ANAS. He noted that in the years of independence as a result of state support for science and scientists of Azerbaijan tireless work in scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS were achieved important scientific results of fundamental, applied and innovative character.

After discussions, the Presidium of ANAS was adopted a decree on the effective organization of the exhibition of scientific achievements of the Academy.

Then the academician-secretary of ANAS, academician Rasim Algulie spoke about the new composition of the Republic Council for Organization and Coordination of Research.

During the meeting, the next decision was approved by the Presidium of the new Board.
