Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Enlarged assembly of Scientific Council of the Institute of Physics of ANAS dedicated to acad. Magsud Aliyev’s 90th jubilee was held.

Opening the assembly director of the institute corresponding member of ANAS Nazim Mammadov congratulated the jubiliarian and made speech on his varied activity in the Institute of Physics.

Deputy Director of the institute for scientific affairs Javad Abdinov made a presentation on the scientific and organizational activity of Magsud Aliyev. Since 1955 the academician conducts research in the field of semiconductor physics in the Institute of Physics and Mathematics, AAS under the leadership of Hasan Abdullayev. As a result of successful research activities M. Aliyev was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Order of “Shohrat” by Presidential Order, Honorary Diploma of the Supreme Council of the former Soviet Order of Patriotic War, Friendship of Peoples, medals and awards named after academician Yusif Mammadaliyev, he noted.

Then the chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, academician Arif Mehdiyev reported in the assembly.

Celebrant also was congratulated by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics, BSU professor Mahammadali Ramazanov, head of the National Nuclear Research Centre of Azerbaijan, director of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS Adil Garibov, winner of the Azerbaijan State Prize winner Eldar Salayev, director of the Institute of Control Systems, academician Telman Aliyev, doctor of historical sciences, professor of the Public Administration Academy under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Azerbaijan cultural Association «Simurq» Fuad Mammadov, Academician-Secretary of the Ganja branch of ANAS Fuad Aliyev and others.

In conclusion, the academician Magsud Aliyev expressed his gratitude to the participants of the event.
