Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The ceremony of awarding certificates of honor of the Division of Earth Sciences of ANAS on the occasion of July 22 - National Press Day was held.

The event was attended by the First Vice-President of ANAS, academician Ibrahim Guliyev, Acting Director of the Institute of Oil and Gas, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, Head of the Department of Public Relations, Press and Information of the Presidium of ANAS, PhD in Philology Aghahuseyn Shukurov and others.

Opening the event, academician Ibrahim Guliyev said that over the past period, the Azerbaijani national press, the foundation of which was laid 145 years ago by the “Ekinchi” newspaper, has successfully overcome many historical trials. The academician noted that, staying true to the historical traditions of the outstanding educator Hasan-bey Zardabi, Azerbaijani journalists formed a school of independent national press in the country. Having said that long-term serious measures are being carried out today aimed at strengthening the material and technical base of the press, the first vice-president of ANAS added that the work of journalists has always been highly valued in our republic.
