Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On August 12, the Samarkand online human rights forum “Youth 2020: Global Solidarity, Sustainable Development and Human Rights” was kicked off. The event was organized by the Government of Uzbekistan and the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.

The forum was attended by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michel Basheletin, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong, Head of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Ingibjerg Solrun Gisladottir, representatives of international and regional non-governmental organizations, local and international experts, national human rights institutions, youth organizations and the media.
