The tourism potential of the North-West region of Azerbaijan has been studied

Head of Department at the Institute of Geography named after academician H.A. Aliyev of ANAS, PhD in Geography, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani visited the North-West region of Azerbaijan in order to study the tourism potential of ethnic villages.

The specialist, together with the head of the department of the Sheki regional scientific center of ANAS with Yusif Rahimov, who was directly involved in the research process, examined the monuments of natural and anthropogenic tourism in Balakan, Zagatala, Gakh, Sheki and Gabala regions in villages densely populated by Muslim and Christian Ingloids, Avians , Lezgins and Udins. As a result of the study, along with unique tourist monuments, a number of problems were identified in this area.

The geographer noted that despite this, Mahamalar, Salban, Kabkchol, Gakhbash, Qum, Kotuklu, Lakit, Shin, Nij and other villages have great tourism potential and are expected to attract both local and foreign tourists in the future.
