Head of the Laboratory of Land Reclamation of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS, Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, Associate Professor Mustafa Mustafayev was elected an active member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RNA).

The scientist, who played an active role in promoting the achievements of the republic abroad, was awarded an academic diploma for his services in the field of science and active cooperation with the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

Mustafayev took an active part in conferences, exhibitions and competitions dedicated to the 25th anniversary of RNA this year. In 2019, he was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

It should be noted that Mustafayev for the first time determined the current state of the lands of the Mugan-Salyan massif through complex studies, prepared maps of salinity and degradation of the area at a scale of 1: 200,000. On the basis of his research, the water-salt balance in irrigated lands, water-salt regime, their forecasting, mathematical dependence of the effect of the amount and type of salts on the productivity of agricultural crops, etc. studied.
