Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The book "Renowned geographers and climatologists of Azerbaijan" authored by the heads of departments of the Institute of Geography of ANAS, Ph.D. in Geography Abil Hagverdiyev and Khayyam Rahimov has been published.

The book compiles lifetime and creativities, scientific-methodological concepts, thoughts and ideas of Professor Ali Figurovsky, a prominent researcher who laid the foundations of geography, including climatology in Azerbaijan, Anvar Shikhlinsky, a researcher of heat balance in our country and the author of the atlas, as well as Professor Aliabbas Madatzadeh, who laid the scientific and methodological basis of meteorological-synoptic processes and developed their genetic classification, and Professor Askar Ayyubov, who made great contributions to the development of agroclimatology.
