On December 15, 2014 at ANAS Institute of Folklore hosted for 120th anniversary of outstanding scientist,literary critic, turcologist and public figure Veli Huluflu.

Opening the event director of institute, corresponding member of ANAS Mukhtar Kazimoglu(Imanov) reported on re-examination and promotion of V.Huluflu’s heritage by department of classical folklore. He noted that the book devoted to life and creativity of the scientist will be published: “V.Huluflu’s ("Folk ashugs” and “Mysteries")” works from “Primary Editions of Azerbaijani Folklore” series were published. M.Kazymogly noted that, having peculiar place in the culture of Azerbaijan, the scientist and writer, linguist and folklorist, repression victim Veli Huluflu is the author of 10 books devoted to literary criticism. Then Professor Jalal Gasimov made a report on “Soviet totalitarianism and Veli Huluflu” and told about great merits of the scientist in formation of public opinion in Azerbaijan. During the event following reports were presented by deputy director of Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, Doctor of Philology Aybeniz Aliyeva-Kangarli on “The Role of V.Huluflu in the formation of Azerbaijani folklore”, PhD in Philology Hamida Aliyeva on “V.Huluflu's activity in the society of Researches and Tetebo of Azerbaijan”, Dr. in philology Magamet Mamedov on “V.Huluflu's Stage in the edition of “Koroglu” epos”, PhD in Philology Sonmaz Abbasli on “Collection “National Ashug” by Veli Huluflu.
