Who knows better than us the relief, geological and geographical features of Karabakh, which is now reunited with its owners? Although we have been separated from those lands for almost 30 years, these territories have been included in the newly prepared scientific literature, maps and atlases.

The author of the scientific analysis of the lakes included in the atlas "Natural conditions and natural resources of Azerbaijan" is the head of the department of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Vagif Mammadov. In an interview with Elm TV, the scientist noted that there are many water sources in Karabakh. According to him, most of the lakes in Karabakh are mountain lakes. At the same time, there are many mineral springs with different compositions.

Mammadov said that the “Boyuk alagol”, the largest mountain lake in the country with an area of 5.4 km, is located in Karabakh.
