Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

A commemorative event dedicated to the memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War was held at the Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS.

The event featured the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War.

Speaking at the meeting, Director of the CSL, Professor Mammad Aliyev noted that our lands were liberated from occupation due to the successful diplomacy of the President and the courage of our brave army.

M.Aliyev expressed his condolences to the CSL employees who lost their relatives and friends in the Great Patriotic War.

It should be noted that President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to commemorate the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan with a minute of silence at 12:00 today. 2783 servicemen of our Armed Forces were killed in the war.
