Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

A commemorative event dedicated to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Institute of Oriental Studies of ANAS.

Opening the event, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva spoke about the great role played by the great leader in the life of the Azerbaijani people. She noted that the national leader had done unprecedented work for the people of Azerbaijan both during the Soviet era and during the years of independence.

The academician said that Heydar Aliyev, who came to the leadership of independent Azerbaijan at the request of the people in the most difficult time of the republic, managed to restore public order in a short time and created great confidence in the future. Our national leader laid the foundation for the high economic development of our country.

G. Bakhshaliyeva stressed that Heydar Aliyev paid great attention to all spheres of life, including science.

Speaking at the event, the head of the South Azerbaijan Department of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Doctor of Philosophy in History Samad Bayramzadeh spoke about Heydar Aliyev's exceptional services in the life of the Azerbaijani people and the development of our science. S.Bayramzadeh paid special attention to the great leader's contribution to the economic development of Azerbaijan both during the Soviet era and during the years of independence.

Speaking at the event, Lala Bayramova, Head of the Education Department of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, said that today we proudly remember the great leader as a victorious citizen of Azerbaijan.
