The world has been fighting COVID-19 for more than a year. Although strict quarantine regimes and vaccination processes are aimed at defeating the coronavirus, the virus continues to cross borders and gain new lives. Mutated strains of the virus have been found in more than 50 countries. All these threats make it necessary to conduct additional research on the virus.

Responding to claims that the new strain of coronavirus called B.1.1.7 is more contagious, Ayten Agayeva, an employee of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS, said that the coronavirus was expected to mutate because it belongs to viruses with RNA genomes.
