ANAS Centre for Scientific Innovations hosted for event devoted to 25th anniversary of 20 January tragedy.

In advance, martyrs commemorated for a minute of silence.

Opening the event director of the centre PhD in Law Azer Namazov stressed out that, 20 January tragedy is the page of heroism in Azerbaijan history. On this day, patriotic lineage of our nation has been killed by invader Soviet army, 132 individuals were killed, and more than 700 were injured. Being tragedy of people, this event is also commencing of independence history of Azerbaijan.

After event, national leader Heydar Aliyev has come to the Permanent Delegation of Azerbaijan to Moscow and for the first time declared the names of offenders who committed the crime. After his return to the power this bloody action has gained the political-legal status and its essence delivered to the world. “Eternal flame” monument complex has been erected, noted A. Namazov and also made speech on allocating particular scholarship for martyrs’ families.

Later on, witnesses of the bloody tragedy – prof. Tabriz Aliyev, PhD in engineering Mahir Mukhtarov’s speeches were listened.
