Central Scientific Library(CSL) held the educational seminar “How to behave in emergency situations.” The event was attended by members of the Baku Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), Rescue Service special risk, the Fire Service, Ministry of Emergency Medical Service, Civil Defense Force Station and emergency care station of Baku.

The purpose of the workshop was to acquaint the staff of CSL with the rules of conduct in emergency situations, as well as to instruct them about the order further action on disaster management. Director of CSL, PhD in medical sciences Leyla Imanova told about the significance of the event in terms of library staff familiarization with the rules of safe behavior in emergency situations and liquidation of their consequences.

The next speaker was the chief of operations, planning and response operations of the Baku Regional Emergency Center, Lieutenant-Colonel Vagif Teymurov, who noted that educational activities play an important role in the activities of the center, and in order to reach a broader population center is constantly improving its operations. Noted that, the activities are carried out jointly with the executive authorities, municipalities, secondary and tertiary institutions, scientists of all areas of Baku.

Then the staff of the regional center of Baku informed about emergencies, classification, characteristics, behavior of people in case of an emergency, rules of use of personal protective equipment, ensure the safe use of gas appliances, floods, road accidents and explosions. In the practical part of the event was given information on the purpose and principles of operation of the equipment and special tools, which are equipped with special-purpose vehicles Baku regional center, special rescue equipment by State Water Rescue Service, PPE civil defense forces and others.
