A nationwide scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS. The seminar was dedicated to the assessment of geological risks during oil and gas exploration.

Opening the event, the director of the institute, academician Akif Alizadeh, noted the need for a more detailed and stable approach to the assessment of geological risks for long-term planning of exploration of hydrocarbon resources, and said that highly trained specialists are needed in this field.

Doctor of Philosophy in Geology and Mineralogy Elchin Bagirov made a report at the seminar. He said that a methodology has been developed for qualitative and quantitative assessment of geological risks at each level (basins, sedimentary complexes or individual areas)...
