Academician Rasim Alguliyev was elected Director General of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS

Elections to the post of Director General of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS were held at the online meeting of the General Meeting of the Department of Physical-Mathematical and Technical Sciences of ANAS held on April 2.

Speaking before the open voting, Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Department of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences, Academician Javad Abdinov noted that in accordance with the presentation of the President of ANAS and the decision of the Presidium of ANAS dated January 8, 2021, academician Rasim Alguliyev is nominated.

Academician Javad Abdinov noted that academician Rasim Alguliev is the author of more than 180 scientific publications in prestigious international databases (Web of Science, Scopus, etc.), 650 scientific works (more than 400 abroad), more than 20 international and national scientific journals is a member of the editorial board. Rasim Alguliyev was elected a corresponding member of ANAS in 2007 and a full member in 2014. The scientist was the academic secretary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in 2013-2019. Academician Rasim Alguliyev is the vice-president of ANAS, the chairman of the Scientific Council of the Department of Physical-Mathematical and Technical Sciences, the director of the Institute of Information Technologies since 2002.

Then, by open voting, academician Rasim Alguliyev was elected as the director general of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS and it was decided to submit a petition to the Presidium of ANAS for approval.
