2nd Special Department of the Presidium of ANAS held next workshop pursuant to decision of AR Cabinet of Ministers “On the civil defense of population in the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated September 25, 1998.

Workshop commenced with minute of silence to commemorate mathematician, vice-president, acad. Akif Hajiyev’s memory.

Event with participation of Civil defense headquarter chiefs of the institution and organizations of ANAS was opened by department chief Eldar Guliyev and he estimated A. Hajiyev’s death as a greatest lost for Azerbaijan mathematics science. “Akif muellim interested in science at early ages, devoted all his life to growth of Azerbaijan mathematics science. His achievements aroused interest not only in Azerbaijan but also in world science. Although we are in deep sorrow today, we are proud of to be worked with Akif muellim shoulder to shoulder for many years. God have mercy on him”, he stated.

Then, Eldar Guliyev provided information about the issues on the agenda. Noted that, pursuant to Action plan of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Civil Defense (CD) and decree of ANAS dated December 24, 2014 “On the results of CD training in 2014 and organizational tips for 2015”, training year for CD was scheduled from January 5, 2015 until November 30. With the purpose to provide proper education year of CD in an organized manner, Steering Committee has organized CD trainings as in every year. In addition, workshop aims at elaborating, planning, and implementing CD measures for protection of employees and objects in emergency situations in accordance with the modern requirements, teaching all employees behavior rules during emergency situations.

Later on, head specialist of the department Alimardan Muhammadov brought to mind organization and implementation rules of CD trainings by Steering Committee. Meanwhile he informed about CD facilities, focusing on property protection, method of establishing non military units in accordance with the method of general-purpose documents, ensuring them with personal protective equipment and usage rules. 

Finally, E. Guliyev drew attention to the all opportunities in order to strengthen enlightening in the sphere of CD and overwhelm facing challenges.
