The Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) organized the regular meeting of the Commission for study of genocide against Azerbaijanis.
ANAS President and Chairman of the Commission Akif Alizadeh outlined the tasks set before the scientists engaged in the Commission’s working groups.
Academician Akif Alizadeh said that, the Commission held events dedicated to raising awareness among the world public on genocide crimes committed against Azerbaijanis.
Publication of books and maps, translations of historical scientific articles based on reliable sources into foreign languages and their promotion will be an adequate answer to information based on fictitious “facts” distributed by Armenians”.
Isa Habibeyli, ANAS vice-president and deputy chairman of the Commission, told about the works performed on study of genocide facts. In his words, the international conferences to be held in scientific and research institutions will be of great importance for such work.
The planned events include: establishment of genocide museum in the Academy, implementation of the project on exchange of books “History of Azerbaijan: to every country”, preparation of historical maps reflecting genocide facts and their electronic versions, development of the catalogue for correct spelling of Azerbaijani toponyms at the occupied territories in English, Russian, French and Arabian languages, organization of scientific conferences dedicated to study of genocide against Azerbaijanis, publication of relevant articles in mass media, presentation and discussion of books, organization of art exhibition dedicated to genocide.
Acted the event academicians Garib Mammadov, Naila Valikhanli, corresponding members of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov, Mukhtar Imanov, Ertegin Salamzade, director of Central Scientific Library, PhD in medical sciences Leyla Imanova and others made a number of proposals and recommendations.
