ANAS Shamakha Astrophysical Observatory named after N. Tusi held regional event on “Moon phases and calendar events”.

Reporting in the event co-organized by Caucasian Muslims’ Office and Tehran University, Iran Islamic Republic, director of the observatory corresponding member of ANAS Ayyub Guliyev, delegate of Caucasian Muslims’ Office Haji Fuad Nurullah, head of Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, Dr. Farhang Ahmadli and others spoke about the importance of the workshop.

“Brief view to 60 yearly performance of Shamakha Astrophysical Observatory”, “Design of Azerbaijan calendars in connection with moon phases” “New Moon appear criteria”, “Observation aspects of Evil times”, “Computational methods and applications of evil times and New Moon” lectures were listened in two day workshop. Lectures highlighted the exact history of religious holidays and ceremonies.

Then, attendees got acquainted with 2-m telescope of the observatory, as well as device and equipment used during observations.
