ANAS Institute of Oriental Studies commemorated victims of Khojaly tragedy, one of the bloody genocides of the XX century.

Reporting in the event director of the institute corresponding member of ANAS Govhar Bakhshaliyeva highlighted Khojaly genocide as a grievous day for Azerbaijan people, informed on the reasons of massacre and statistics related to.

G. Bakhshaliyeva made speech on fulfillments done within “Justice for Khojaly” promo-campaign proposed by vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, purposeful performance in order to promote Khojaly as genocide committed against Azerbaijan people, works conducted at the level of Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international organizations.

Notifying Khojaly genocide is the continuation of the ethnic cleansing policy carried out against Azerbaijanis over a period of two hundred years by Armenian nationalists, G. Bakhshaliyeva stressed out that, declaring voice of Khojaly to the world is a debt of every Azerbaijanian. Institute director noted the efforts of employees in delivering truths about genocides committed in North and South Azerbaijan by Armenians as well.

Chief of Religion and social thought department, PhD in philosophy Esmeralda Hasanova, chief of South Azerbaijan department, PhD in history Samad Bayramzadeh and others said that, Khojaly genocide has caused moral damage to Azerbaijan people.
