Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On April 27, Institute of Geology and Geophysics held the next meeting of ANAS Department of Earth Sciences, which was attended by members of the bureau, director of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Institute of Geography, Republican Seismological Survey Center, deputy director for scientific affairs and scientific secretaries.

Opening the meeting academician-secretary of the department, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov informed about the issues on the agenda.

Then, leading researcher in the Department of mud volcanism of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, PhD in geological-mineralogical sciences Orkhan Abbasov presented a summary report of the winning project of the contest 2013 Science Foundation SOCAR "Hydrocarbon potential of the deep deposits of Gobustan." 

The event was also addressed to Institute of Geology and Geophysics at preparing PhDs in 2014, as well as making some changes in the structure of the scientific establishment.
