On December 15, the 6th meeting of the Joint Commission on cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, technology, culture, sports and youth between the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was held in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The event was also attended by the Acting First Vice-President of ANAS, academician Arif Hashimov.
The agenda of the 6th meeting of the Commission included issues related to the current state of economic cooperation between the two countries, trade and investment, energy, digital development and transport, health, culture, science and education, agriculture and food security, labor, employment and social protection, Islam, tourism, youth and sports, politics, security and other areas.
Following the discussions, the Co-Chairs of the Commission, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov and Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih signed the Minutes of the 6th meeting of the Joint Commission.
Thus, the 5th article of the protocol reflects Saudi Arabia's consideration of the study of the influence of Islamic traditions in the work of Nizami Ganjavi, as well as the influence of the poet's work on the development of literature and philosophy. At the same time, the parties agreed on mutual cooperation between the Institute of Physiology named after Academician A.Karayev of ANAS and the Center for Organ Transplantation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the topic "Innovative approaches to the creation of immunological tolerance on experimental models".
The parties also agreed to cooperate with the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS in connection with the holding of a seminar in Baku on the manuscripts of Abu al-Qasim al-Zahawi and the study of means for the translation of these manuscripts.
