Next assembly of ANAS Department of Agrarian Sciences (DAS) was held at Presidium of ANAS. Opening the assembly with participation of bureau members, academician-secretary of DAS acad. Garib Mammadov informed about issues on the agenda. Notifying about decision made at meeting of the Presidium of ANAS on October 17, 2013 on establishment of Young Scientists and Specialists Council, G. Mammadov highlighted successful implementation of involvement of the youth into the science, and special care and attention of government to the youth. Later on, nominators elected for Council were approved. Nusret Sirajov was appointed the chair of new created Council of the Institute of Soil Elm and Agrochemistry, Mahammad Eldarov –Institute of Genetic Resources, PhD in agrarian sciences Izzet Talibov –Erosion and Irrigation Institute. Making speech on “Information system for plant genetic sources in Azerbaijan”, director of Genetic Resources Institute Dr. Agriculture Zeynal Akperov and chief department Afig Mammadov infoemd about the elaboration of new information space for plant genetic sources in Azerbaijan for the first time and on creation of new typed software – information search system. Agif Mammadov noted that, national collections of PGR are inventoried in the republic, basing on was created National Database, established the National Information Sharing Mechanism. It was noted that, the creation of an information system on the long-term studies have been carried out under the leadership of Jalal Aliyev. For the support of authors’ studies, directory of the institute expressed their gratitude to Department of Biological and Medical Sciences, Department of Agricultural Sciences and Information Technology Institute. Academic debate over the report was held among Deputy Secretary corresponding member of ANAS Mahmud Abdullayev, acad. Mammad Salmanov, corresponding member of ANAS Muharram Babayev and others. At the same time, Institute of Genetic Resources presented “Adaptation mechanisms in plants” book. The authors of the new book: Professor Ramiz Aliyev, PhDs in biology Mehraj Abbasov and Valida Rahimli.
