Director of ANAS Institute of Botany, corresponding member of ANAS Valida Alizadeh and head of the Department of Embryophyte, PhD in biology Vugar Karimov was invited to take part in the inauguration and scientific event dedicated to the world of relic plants, which was held at the Natural History Museum in Fribourg (Switzerland).
At this important event were attended Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Republic to Switzerland Akram Zeynalli, the Swiss Minister of Education and other officials.
Event was also attended by PhD students of ANAS Institute of Botany - E.Alirzayeva and A.Dadashova who continue their education in a variety of scientific organizations of Europe.
According to the agreement between ANAS Institute of Botany and the Natural History Museum in Fribourg, exhibition demonstrated the areas of distribution of Azerbaijan relict tree species, special patterns reflecting the flora, biogeography and ecology of our country.
During discussions, the scientists stressed the importance of expanding scientific collaboration and advocacy in the field of environmental protection, as well as exploit opportunities of modern technology in this direction.
