Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Genetic Resources Institute (GRI) of ANAS and Azerbaijan State Agricultural University  (ASAU) signed an agreement on cooperation.

The event was attended by the director of GRI, corresponding member of ANAS Zeynal Akbarov, chancellor of ASAU, corresponding member of ANAS Ibrahim Jafarov, deputy director for scientific affairs of GRI, PhD in biology Mehraj Abbasov and university staff.

According to the signed agreement on staff training and cooperation in the sphere of scientific researches was founded "The basic chair" at GRI.

The purpose of creation of chair is the coordination of educational process in ASAA with scientific researches, strengthening of integration of science, education and production, formation of practical knowledge, skills on undergraduates and PhD students which are necessary for research and professional activity, application in educational process of scientific innovations and innovations in such scientific spheres as "Genetics", "Biotechnology", "Virology", "Selection and seed farming", "Vegetable growing" and "Fruit growing", and also carrying out and development of joint scientific researches.

At a meeting of the Academic Council of the University I.Jafarov and Z.Akperov presented the reports on activity directions of the Base chair.

At the end of the signing ceremony, corresponding member of ANAS Z.Akperov spoke on "Prospects for the development of agricultural science and education in Azerbaijan” afore members of the "Agriculture" Faculty.

After the event were examined new laboratories and auditoriums, established in ASAA.

Z.Akperov highly appreciated the radical reforms realized in the university in recent years.
