Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Jamshid Nakhchivanski has passed a glorious path as a resourceful warlord. In the battle for the independence of Azerbaijan he contributed to military art with his courage and valor. Prominent commander’s rich activities in the field of training of highly qualified military personnel are praiseworthy. Jamshid Nakhchivanski is one of those personalities who has been subjected to brutal repression of the 1930s and became a victim of the totalitarian regime.

These thoughts voiced in the scientific conference in Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS which was held on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of a prominent commander Jamshid Nakhchivanski. 

Conference with co-organization of the Supreme Majlis of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS was opened by chairman of the Branch, academician Ismayil Hajiyev. In order to ensure the execution of the Order of the President of Republic of Azerbaijan "On the celebration of the 120th anniversary of Jamshid Nakhchivanski" dated April 2, 2015 April, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic signed a decree on April 9 on the "Action Plan in connection with the 120th anniversary of Jamshid Nakhchivanski in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”. Towards the implementation of the tasks arising from this Order, Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS carried out purposeful measures.

At the conference were delivered reports by senior researcher of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archaeology of ANAS Nakhchivan Branch, PhD in history Zeynab Guliyeva on "Life and work of General - Major Jamshid Nakhchivanski (1895-1917 years)", senior researcher at the same institute, PhD in History Musa Guliyev on "National leader Heydar Aliyev and Jamshid Nakhchivanski", chief department of the institute Ilhami Guliyev on "Jamshid Nakhchivanski’s activities during the Azerbaijan People Republic and his struggle against the Armenian Dashnaks", scientific secretary of the institute, PhD in History Yashar Rahimov on "J. Nakhchivanski’s army building in the Soviet era and his activities in the training of military staff”.
