Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Director of the Institute of Geography, Academician Ramiz Mammadov, Deputy Director for Science of the same scientific institution, corresponding member of ANAS Elbrus Alizadeh attended the regional conference on "Geography, culture and society for the future of the world" witch held in Moscow State University (MSU).

More than 1500 scientists and experts from 60 countries of the world took part in the conference organized by the Russian Geographical Society, International Geographical Union, Moscow State University (MSU) and Russian Academy of Sciences.

At the opening of the conference was announced the greeting of the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Then was discussed the important issues, consider the results of studies in the field of geography in the world.

At the conference Academician R. Mammadov presented jointly prepared with E.Alizade poster-report on "Transformation of landscape of the coast of the Caspian Sea and the experience of landscape planning", E.Alizade presented jointly developed with I.Kuchinskaya and S.Guliyeva poster-report "The degradation of arid landscapes of Azerbaijan under the influence of anthropogenic factors".

After the presentation, Academician Ramiz Mammadov İGU - Supreme Council of the International Geographical Union adopted a decision on the carrying out in 2017 the International Conference on the theme "Energy geography and balanced development" with the participation of more than 300 foreign experts in Baku.

The conference continued its work with fruitful discussion, sessions, plenary and thematic lectures, scientific excursions and other interesting events.
