Academician Kamal Abdullayev awarded with Prize «Scanno» in Italy

Italian city L`Akuila hosted the ceremony of the prestigious 42th Prize Scanno, established by the Fund Tanturri.

Famous Azerbaijani writer, Academician Kamal Abdullayev also honored with this award. The event was attended by representatives of the literary, cultural and political circles in Italy, artists and journalists.

Traditionally, each year, the Foundation presents the award Tanturri Scanno to the persons who distinguished themselves in the field of literature, law, sociology, ecology, medicine, music, and other categories. Writer Kamal Abdullayev was awarded one of the most prestigious awards in the field of literature in Italy - Scanno for the novel "Unfinished Manuscript" that aroused great interest of Italian readers. Award Scanno, established by the Italian writer and journalist Ricardo de Horatio Tanturri in 1972, is of great importance in terms of the evaluation of individuals with great talent and original creativity in various fields. Until now, owners of premium Scanno were former Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi, Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa, the famous actor Michele Placido, and other prominent figures who awarded the highest state awards of different countries. Writer Kamal Abdullayev’s awarding with such a prestigious award is a testament to the high evaluation of global creativity of the Azerbaijani writer.

At the ceremony it was stressed that Kamal Abdullayev's novel "Unfinished Manuscript" entered into a number of publicationsf for its literary quality and high level of sales. Synthesis of classic literature from ancient mythology. presented in the novel attrcated attention of Italian literature lovers.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy Vagif Sadikhov who got the Award on behalf of Kamal Abdullayev expressed his gratitude to the Fund for such a high assessment given to our literature.
