Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On October 12, 6th international scientific conference titled as “Multidisciplinary approach in solution of challenges of Geophysics and geophysics” kicked off at the Central Scientific Library. 4 days event which was organized by Institute of Geology and Geophysics for young researchers was involved over 150 scientists, PhD students, master’s degree and students generally representing 18 countries including England, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and others.

Conference was opened by Vice-President of ANAS, Acad. Ibrahim Guliyev who wished successes to the attendees. Then, CEO of Science Development Foundation under AR President PhD in physics-math Elchin Babayev reported and highlighted the high level of organization of 5 international conferences realized so far and joint cooperation of foundation via the institute.

Chairman of ANAS Board of Young Scientists and Specialists, PhD in physics, senior lecturer Famin Salmanov highly appraised the conference which is held traditionally by Institute of Geology and Geophysics for young researchers, brought to mind its exceptional role in life of an Academy as well as stressed out the contribution of the Board.

Later on, chairman of IGG Board of Young Scientists and Specialists, PhD in Geology Orkhan Abbasov informed on the attendees and program of the conference in detail. Event was sponsored by SDF, SOCAR Scientific Foundation, “bp Azerbaijan”, and “Total Azerbaijan” companies, he noted.

Opening ceremony of the conference chaired by chairman of organizing committee, corresponding member of ANAS Akper Feyzullayev and was carried out discussion of plenary topics.

Reports and presentations on various directions of geology and geophysics have been conducted in the event.

International conference will run until October 15.
