Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Recently, ANAS carries out large scaled reforms, paves the way for strengthening logistical base of an Academy, and mainstreams enhancing of innovative researches. The structures of scientific institutions are updated, setting up research on the effective mechanisms is provided. As a result of these events and with the goal to supply logistical base of the Institute of Botany Department of the fundamental problems of biological productivity, following apparatus have been purchased by financial support of the grant project within the program "Strengthen the capacity of Bioprotection and Biosafety in the South Caucasus and Central Asian countries” to UN Interregional Crime and Law Research Institute (UNICRI): QIAxcel Advanced instrument Capillary electrophoresis apparatus, QIAxcel DNA Screening Kit, QX Nitrogen Cylinder of the U.S. QIAGEN Company, which needed for a molecular biological studies in 2015, Epoch Microplate Spectrophotometer for defining the amount and purity of the DNA molecule in a small amounts, 48 slots Take3 Trio Micro-Volume Plate tablet for spectrophotometer, and ELx50 Microplate automated strip washer for realizing immunofermental tests.

Modern equipment that had purchased within the framework of project allows implementing quick molecular diagnosis and identification of a lot of various plants infected with the virus and phytoplasma diseases, and carrying out more quickly and accurately analysis of PCR products via capillary electrophoresis. Meanwhile, has been purchased Growing-chamber by ANAS, which enables to grow a particular plant by providing it with temperature, humidity and lighting throughout the year.
