October 14, in the framework of the jubilee events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of ANAS, was held the official opening ceremony on the occasion of handing over Central Scientific Library (CSL) for readers.
The event was attended by President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh, Vice-Presidents, representatives of foreign embassies to Azerbaijan, heads of scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS, representatives of mass media and other official guests.
At the event, the Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about the public attention to the development of science in our country. Detailed reporting on the activities of the Central Scientific Library, Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that according to the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated April 29, 2011 was constructed the new library building met with modern requirements. In November of the same year, the head of state laid the foundation for a new library building. The most modern equipment and systems in the library were first used it the history library of our country. May 5, 2014 took place the opening of the new building of the Central Scientific Library.
It was noted that CSL is the largest, and leading universal scientific library in our country, which has rich fund of scientific publications of national and global significance. There used information and communication technologies based on the latest scientific and technological achievements.
I.Habibbeyli noted that completion work on creation of the electronic catalog of the library is under construction.
The next speaker, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Azerbaijan Hassan Hami said that the library has great potential, "Science, culture - the elements necessary to achieve the objectives. I hope that this library will become the center of a bridge on the way to achieving these goals. "
Other speakers also noted that the CSL is a significant contribution to the scientific community of Azerbaijan, wished success to the work of the library.
