ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History opened the exhibition devoted to 95th anniversary of this structure and presentation of the "Virtual Museum of the Karabakh History" on October 21.

Co-organizers of the Virtual Museum were the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Republic, Center of Information and Communication Technologies "Virtual Karabagh" and the National Museum of Azerbaijan History.

The presentation was attended by state and government officials, heads of public institutions and youth organizations, MPs, members of the scientific community, as well as media representatives.

At the opening ceremony, Director of the museum, Academician Naila Velikhanli told about the traversed historical path and areas of activity of the institution led by her.

At the exhibition was given the information on 95-history of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, prominent experts working in the museum, also were shown the interesting exhibits and editions of the museum which are stored in funds.

On the event also was presented book by Director of the museum, Academician Nailya Velikhanli "The National Museum of Azerbaijan History – 95".

Further Vice-president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, stressed the importance of works in the direction of promotion of Azerbaijan history. He also noted that, the museum reflects the different stages of development of our society.

Stressing the invaluable merits of the museum in the historical development of science in Azerbaijan, I.Habibbeyli noted that, on the orders of President Ilham Aliyev, who pays special attention to the protection of cultural heritage, along with numerous monuments and cultural centers, the National Museum of Azerbaijan History was also reconstructed and enriched with new exhibits.

During the event coordinator of the project "Virtual Museum of Karabakh History", coordinator of "Virtual Karabagh" Center for Information and Communication Technologies Nureddin Mekhdiyev noted that, "Virtual Museum of Karabakh History" is the first professional virtual museum in Azerbaijan. He noted that, such museums established by various well-known world museums. The presented museum will serve as the dissemination on Karabakh realities in the Internet space.

Then, with extensive presentation about the museum acted the research associate of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, head of the project "Virtual Museum of Karabakh History" Sabuhi Huseynov.

Noted that, the purpose of the "Virtual Museum of Karabakh History" project to gather the exhibits which are stored in various museums to promote the culture and history of Karabakh reflecting history and cultural heritage of Karabakh. Here over 900 exhibits across Karabakh from 32 museums and personal collections of Azerbaijan and the world are collected.

At the presentation ceremony also spoke the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Intigam Babayev, head of the department of social and political affair of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Republic Vusal Guliyev, Director of the Institute of History, correspondent member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov and others, who spoke about the development of the museum, congratulated museum staff on the occasion of the anniversary.
