“Archaeological researches in Azerbaijan: 2013-2014” book dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was presented on November 5.
Opening the meeting director of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Prof. Maisa Rahimova spoke about care and attention of the government for archeology, excavations carried out by the institute in the territory of the republic during 2013-2014, and importance of these researches in study of ancient history.
Stated that, since 2008 Mr. President Ilham Aliyev’s fund allocations from President's Reserve Foundation for archeology and ethnography, his Orders on creating Goytepe (Tovuz) and Mugan-Babazanli acheo parks, are obvious indicators of a state care.
M.Rahimova noted that, latest achievements of Azerbaijan archeologists could be considered deserved contribution for 70th anniversary of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. In this regard, institute has published paper bulk titled as “Archaeological researches in Azerbaijan: 2013-2014”.
Later on, Vice-President of ANAS, Acad. Isa Habibbayli said that, archeology and ethnography of Azerbaijan is one of the priority areas exploring ancient history and material-moral culture of our people.
Director of the Institute of History, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov told about Azerbaijan archeologists and ethnographers’ decent struggle against unjustified appropriation of national material-moral resources by the hostile foreign forces in a science platform.
Acting Academician-secretary of the Department of Social Sciences, corresponding member of ANAS Nargis Akhundova noted the special place of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography among scientific ventures, which will meet the 70th anniversary with its achievements in science.
