Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

As reported, main building of ANAS hosted solemnly celebration of the 70th anniversary of Academy yesterday. In the event, Nobel laureate Prof. George Fritzgeralt Smoot spoke about rich history of ANAS, stated his awareness of Azerbaijan scientists’ achievements in various fields including, physics, biophysics, space industry, and his willingness to collaborate via them. Emphasizing scientific achievements in the field of biophysics, scientist noted that the power of today's computers almost be felt in all areas of science and opens up great opportunities for development.

George Fritzgeralt Smoot made speech on fruitful activity of ANAS in training of scientific staff and appreciated the organization of master studies in ANAS.

Then, scientists told about latest achievements of medicine in the world against various diseases. G. Smoot noted the taken measures in the country for preventing non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, blood circulatory, cardiovascular, and stressed out that, there is not a serious communicable disease in the country.

In closing, Nobel laureate informed on the world research by application of nanotechnology to medicine and the latest achievements, submitted patterns on computational methods, and joint use of human knowledge and technology.
